It’s not that serious.
This is a phrase coined by my dear sister, actually, that has become my life motto. It’s not that serious.
I think humor and lightness are really missing in the world right now, and it’s damn important.
After several years of obsessing over self-improvement gurus’ tips, tricks and hacks, I’m taking a break from the “You need to do THIS! to live, laugh, love your way through life” talk, and instead doing what I’ve always done best—whatever the hell I want.
That said, the Ask Ashley newsletter is now dedicated to making you laugh. We’ll still talk about *women’s interest* topics of wellness, mental health, motherhood, marriage and friendships, but through a more lighthearted lens. Because I’m tired of self-improving, honestly.
If you don’t know me, HIE. I’m a writer by day and stylist by night, mom to three darling children and wife to Jake, my tall husband who enjoys mowing the lawn and mocking my ostrich feather hats.
I’ve held editorial roles in several luxury magazines and have freelanced for fun pubs like Forbes, Well + Good, PS, Modern Mom Probs and more. I plan on becoming the next Anna Wintour once I convince Jake to move to New York after our kids have flown the nest. Just 17 more years!!
My days are now dedicated to this newsletter (so please support her if you find her helpful!!!), raising my three darling children and squeezing in champagne lunches with girlfriends when I can.
I believe our weirdness is what makes us great and am on a life-long mission to make a living having fun.
Cheers.
Keep being you. Keep drinking the good Pinot Grigio.
Xo, Ash
