The 21 Day Meditation Experiment To Start BEFORE New Year's
For yogis *and* meditation haters
Merry Christmas to meeeee, she says.
Happy Week of Christmas!!
I just wrapped my presents and am looking forward to giving and receiving some fab gifts. Mostly though, I’m looking forward to hanging out with My People. You know who you are.
Because this time of year is laden with stress about what to buy, what to eat, and who not to freak out on, I thought now was as good a time as any to talk about the 21 Day Meditation Experiment.
Side note: Don’t let the title scare you. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do, and you will come out the other side happier, more refreshed, and maybe even with less wrinkles. LET’S DIVE IN.
We know Chelsea Handler as the outspoken and hilarious celebrity/comedian that she is. She is also someone who has had a lot of therapy — getting schooled on everything from reparenting herself to being open to romance.
Sharing her newly positive outlook on life and love via her podcast (highly recommend), her latest tip-off is the 21-day meditation experiment, a tactic learned from her therapist which is essentially a reframe for anyone looking to get unstuck —in whatever area of life they’re feeling stuck in.
“I do about 20 minutes every morning when I wake up, before I even get out of bed, with my feet on this grounding mat. It’s a good way for me to just have an intention for the day, like, ‘Do not be a bitch today. You are one. Try not to be.’” — she told Bustle.
How To Do It?
Wake up and write down whatever you’re grateful for that day — before rushing into your morning — for 21 days straight. Inspired by the notion (the fact?) that it takes 21 days to create a habit that sticks, this experience will (read: is supposed to) make you feel like a brand spankin’ new you.
Thank you for reading. Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas.
Be you. A more meditative you.
