And Just Like That...I Got Covid
Happy Tuesday, friends!
I tested positive for Covid this morning! Yippee! While my body feels like it was hit by a bus, my soul is grateful. Why, you ask? Because it made me think of all the people who are actually sick, all of the time — people going through cancer treatment, people living with chronic illness, etc.
And it got me thinking…
Are we supposed to stay trapped in a bubble during the winter months until the end of time? Is quarantining for 10+ days the modern price we pay for living our lives? Or, is self-isolation the reprieve we all need from the hustle and bustle (and unnecessary annoyance) of daily life? Even if it costs us our sanity?
I suppose just like anything else, getting Covid is all about perspective. Am I looking forward to being in lockdown WITH A BABY AND A 5-YEAR-OLD for the next week and a half? Hell no, but the sun is supposed to shine (every day!) and it will be warm enough to go outside, so hallelujah for that.
Also, perhaps this is my chance to try a *healthy* meal delivery service, as well as find new ways to bond with my son other than reading science books I don’t care about and yelling at him to get off his iPad.
Another (very important) also, I just watched And Just Like That…and my jaw is STILL DROPPED.
Like the corporate folk say…
Stay safe & healthy.
Be you.
Xo, Ash
